“You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.” —Steve Maraboli
We often wonder, “Why am I here on this earth and what is my purpose?” I’m here to tell you that God has an important purpose for you, even if you do not yet know it. I was reflecting on this as I was eating my breakfast, and I began to think back to my childhood. When I was a child, things were not complicated: I went to school, and I played in my spare time. My purpose was simple: to learn and behave. I learned in school and church, but behaving was a bit of challenge at times. Though I was shy, I was also rambunctious and a bit of a tomboy. I loved playing in the mud with the boys and sometimes got into trouble. Eventually I grew up, went to work, got married, became more assertive, got divorced, started a career, and worked crazy hours—all of which led me to an important question: What is my purpose in life?
Perhaps you already know the answer, but I, for one, figured it out much later in life. If you don’t know the answer, let me assure you that God has an important purpose for you, and it’s never too late to discover that purpose.
For some folks, raising their children is their purpose in life. For others, it may be volunteering time to help those in need. Still others may inspire people through teaching, writing, art, science, or beauty. If your life feels fulfilled, you’re right on track. But if your life feels like something is missing, take a moment to reflect on what you can do different that will bring you happiness and fulfillment.
When you’re in alignment with your divine purpose, life just seems to flow. You’re happy, creative, energetic, and full of passion. Each day gets you excited and you can’t wait to see what’s next on the agenda. You feel a sense of accomplishment and realize that God will also make everything possible for you to succeed. That’s not to say everyone has an easy purpose in life—sometimes our purpose looks difficult and challenging. But the truth is, one day you will look back and see how all the pieces fit together—and that your life is an amazing success because of those you helped along the way.
In my upcoming novel, Journey of the Lightworker, my main character, Kyra, discovers her life’s true purpose. It wasn’t quite what she originally had in mind, but God puts her on an unexpected path, and she comes into alignment with her soul’s real purpose.
Like Kyra, I too feel blessed to have discovered my true life’s purpose: to inspire people with my writing and artwork. You can also discover your life’s true purpose by simply asking for divine inspiration—then look for the answer to come to you. God has an important purpose for you, and it’s just around the corner waiting for you to discover it.
My love and inspiration this week! XO Shari
